Sanz Medical Center-Laniado Hospital was conceived by its founders as an "institution providing patient-centered high quality health care for all persons in need and in accordance with halachic principles". No person would be turned away, regardless of religious or other affiliation, or ability to pay. Concern for the sick would always take precedence over other considerations.
Composition of the Medical Center : The Medical Center maintains departments in Cardiology, Intensive Care, Pulmonary, General Surgery, Gynecology, Maternity, Neo-Natology, Premature Baby, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Urology, Hemo-Dialysis, Ophthalmology, Ear, Nose and Throat, Fertility and Andrology, Occupational and Environmental Medicine, as well as an extensive range of outpatient clinics. As the only hospital in Netanya, its Emergency Room/Trauma Center is on call 24 hours a day and treats over 41,000 cases annually. Due to the pressing demand for hospital beds, Laniado endeavors to provide ambulatory care and focus on preventive medicine wherever possible. The hospital's outpatient clinics service 45,000 people annually. In addition to the clinics associated with the hospital's departments for patients requiring post hospitalization treatment, out-patient care is also provided in Orthopedics; X-Ray; Mammography; Nuclear Medicine; Physiotherapy, General Check-Up and a host of other sub-specialties. Since Laniado is a not-for-profit community hospital, not funded by the Israeli government, it must fund its overall operation including equipment purchases and building expansion.
